Access files on your Jailbroken iPhone with USB instead of WiFi

Over the last few months, Ive been searching for a way to easily transfer files (such as themes, apps, wallpapers, and other files which iTunes won’t let you do…) via USB instead of using WiFi.

The most popular way to transfer Winterboard themes, replacing stock files with modded files etc..is to use SSH but I’m pretty sure you already know that that is why I will make it short. - SSH allows you to access the raw filesystem (root) of your iPhone, allowing you to have complete control over which files you want to delete, replace, rename, change, you name it. The only problem with SSH is that it has to be used with a WiFi connection. Most of us these days have a WiFi connection at home and using SSH is not such a big deal, unfortuantly it is not as fast as transfering files via USB 2.0 cable let say, or if your WiFi network is not is good of a range .. you will experience in slow transfer speeds when it comes to big files.

Few months ago I posted on my expierence of iPhone Browser which was OK at that time but it was unstable and crashed a lot.

I have found iFun Box to be very very useful application, it is fast, it works great over USB 2.0 connection and it doesnt’ crash. Even if you rip the cord from the PC, it still won’t crash..it will just tell you that your device was not removed safly ..kinda like windows does :)

Try it out, it should work right from the start, if you see that your iPhone 3.1.2 or 3.0 firmware or any other firmware version is showing up as iPhone 2G JAILED, MAKE SURE TO INSTALL “afc2add” from ModMyI repo which will fix the incorrect detection problem over USB.

I have tested this program on Windows 7 64bit and Vista 32bit and it worked perfectly on both machines. I would recomnd this program to anyone who would like to replace stock ringtones for SMS, icons, themes, etc.
